Michaella Barron

  • Detroit Native, Michaella Barron moved away from home at 14 to attend Interlochen Arts Academy. There she performed works by Agnes De Mille, Joseph Morissey, and was selected to perform at Lincoln Center by choreographer Christopher Williams. She moved to New York City to attend the Ailey/Fordham BFA in dance program and graduated summa cum laude with honors with a double major in International Political Economy and a concentration in Italian Language. In addition she has trained with Gibney Company, SpringboardX, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Gallim Dance, Complexions Contemporary Dance, and Martha Graham Dance School. Since being in NYC she has performed works by Anna Sokolow, Manuele Vignoulle, Martha Graham, Jessica Lang, Connie Shiau, and more! Michaella is also interested in choreography and creating community and is the Director of Forza Dance. Michaella has choreographed numerous staged works as well as music videos, a musical film, and personal film projects. Her dance film “Maria” was selected to premiere for the Booking Dance Festival 2021 and her film “Outside In” was selected to premiere in the DUMBO Dance Festival 2021. Her works have been shared at various venues around NYC such as The Rose Nagelburg Theatre, Triskelion Arts, Greenspace, Arts on Site, The Tada Theater, and Fordham University. As an emerging dance artist Michaella is excited to delve into the industry and share her work and passions as a way to create a more empathetic world.

Our small, but mighty staff work on both branches of Forza Dance alongside Michaella Barron. Aside from their titles, they are also dancers and multidimensional creatives based in NYC.

  • Company Writer

    Gabrielle DiNizo (Gabby) is originally from Dayton, OH where she began her dance training at Dayton Dance Conservatory. While there she performed for their pre-professional company, Dayton Dance Conservatory Company, for two years before moving to New York City for college. In May 2021, Gabby graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University/The Ailey School with a BFA in Dance and English. She has performed works by Robert Battle, Brice Mousset (Oui Danse), Adam Baruch, Earl Mosley, and Manuel Vignouelle. Gabby spent her summers training at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Dance Italia, where she cultivated her love for contemporary and modern dance. Currently, Gabby is in her second season as a company member with Jon Lehrer Dance Company and has had the pleasure of touring both nationally and internationally with them. She is also a movement instructor for Creativities Studio in NYC. Gabby is overjoyed to join the Forza Dance team as their company writer, working to bring their mission to life through grant writing and communications.

  • Director of Communications

    Reché Nelson is originally from West Palm Beach, FL where she began her formal training at Palm Beach Ballet Center under the direction of Joan Miller. She continued training at Florida School for Dance Education while attending A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She spent her summers training with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and The Ailey School. Reché has performed works by Darshan Bhuller, Meredith Dincolo, Christopher Huggings, Yoshito Sakuraba, Alysia Johnson, and Robert Battle among others. Reché graduated with honors from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program with a double major in Dance and Digital Technology and Emerging Media. Since graduating, she has had the honor to perform with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane company’s production of Deep Blue Sea, L’Allegro, Il Penseroso ed il Moderato with Mark Mork Dance Group, and other projects throughout New York City. Reché is currently a freelance artist based in New York City and is the Marketing Associate for McKoy Dance Project. She is grateful for the opportunity to join Forza Dance Company and Community as the Director of Digital Media in support of their mission.
